The path to having your own business is highly individual. But what all founders have in common is that they face a number of challenges in making their business a success.
We recommend that you reflect on a few questions at the beginning of this exciting journey:
Ask yourself what your motivation is for working for yourself. Is it so you can be more self-sufficient and stand on your own two feet? Do you want to prove to the competition that you can do better? Whatever your personal motivation, you should have an answer to this question. That will help you find the motivation to keep going even when times get tough.
When you are clear about what drives you, you can also define what your goal is. Do you want to be the best-known cosmetic studio in Central Switzerland? Would you like a celebrity to be your client? Dream about your future and write it down. And then post this piece of paper where you can see it regularly. This will motivate you day in, day out.
Especially in the early stages, you’ll have to grit your teeth and stick with it. The journey is not always straight or smooth. Which activity then helps you find new energy? Which people are important for you and give you staying power? Thinking about this can help you know what to do during a dry spell before you start. That will give you courage!
Once you have thought about this, the next step is to develop and test a business idea.
